Stories that Win Symposium
Stories that Win is a transdisciplinary project deploying computational text analysis to analyze the structure and content of origin stories, be these stories of politicians, CEOs, or university presidents; the stories of iconic brands; or narratives of communities, from small towns to nations. We are in the first stage of data gathering for the project, which ultimately aims to provide scholars across the globe with a digital repository of origin stories for use in their own research projects.
Our launch symposium will bring together researchers from across disciplines interested in the various ways that story forms affect society. We aim to create a community of scholars that is uniquely cross-disciplinary, encompassing the humanities, social sciences, and STEM fields, to discuss innovative methods for the large-scale data analysis of story form and structure.
Hosted at Washington University in St. Louis, the Stories that Win Symposium will welcome distinguished scholars and storytellers from across the nation.
